Statement on the death of George Floyd

The events currently happening in the USA after the death of George Floyd will be directly affecting many of our employees and service users, particularly those from the Black community. It is important that organisations across the world, including ours, recognise the impact of events such as these. It is vital that we continue to do our part in addressing racism, wherever it is found. Racism, and any other kind of hate, will never be acceptable.

We stand in solidarity with all those affected by the events in the USA and beyond, and are urging any of our employees struggling to deal with the situation to reach out, whether to a friend, a colleague or to the support systems we have in place across MTC.

Our values should be at the heart of everything we do. We should always seek to be accountable, caring, transparent and collaborative. As we face global events such as this today, being caring and collaborative are crucial. Working together, and caring for one another and the people and communities we work for, is how we will come out of situations like this as a stronger, more united organisation.
