Changes to resettlement services in HMP Wandsworth

Over the last few months we have worked jointly with our supply chain providers to agree and develop new delivery arrangements, which we believe will strengthen delivery of services for those leaving prison and partnership working with key stakeholders.

As such we are pleased to confirm that from 1 August 2020, Catch 22 will commence as London CRC’s provider for Wandsworth resettlement services.

Catch 22 work with us to deliver resettlement services across other prisons within London and across the last 12 months they have recorded impressive results. Their current London Through the Gate teams have achieved consistently strong engagement with service users to ensure they are prepared for life after their release from custody. Importantly, 95% of service users report positive feedback from their service.

Catch 22 will be looking to embed their wider services in to HMP Wandsworth to ensure the best outcomes for the men leaving the establishment. These include their London Gang Exit Service and Employability services. They will also be routinely working with peer mentors to support service users whilst serving their own sentences, which has proved hugely successful in their other services.

London CRC is overseeing a jointly agreed mobilisation plan, which aims to ensure that employee and service transfer happens smoothly and that the embedding of new services is undertaken successfully.

Head of Custody at London CRC, Martin Larbey, said “we look forward to working with Catch 22 to deliver and demonstrate an improved resettlement service, which provides robust resettlement planning and outcomes for the men leaving the prison.”
