We understand the challenges of probation, but also what we can achieve if we strive for continuous improvement. Our job is to deliver the sentence of the Court and provide rehabilitation interventions that transform service users’ lives and protect the public.
Around half of all crime is committed by people who have already been through the criminal justice system, costing the taxpayer up to £13 billion a year. We believe the way to reducing reoffending lies within probation. We work with service users to drive positive changes in their life, analysing the causes of their reoffending behaviour, and using interventions and programmes to address these causes. We also work with partners to help solve other factors of reoffending, such as homelessness, joblessness and drug addiction.
Underpinning all our work is the quality of our people. The key factor in our success both now and in the future is an experienced, knowledgeable and motivated workforce. We continue to develop employees through training, learning initiatives. With this workforce, we will continue to deliver a quality service leading directly to safer communities.
